A Taste of Brazil at Gauchos Do Sul

Now with 2 locations, Vintage Park the original location, and Highland Village. Gauchos Do Sul is a new Brazilian Traditional Steakhouse complete with Rodìzio-style service, a gourmet salad area, a cocktail lounge, a wine room, and a weekly piano bar.

During the 15th century, Southern Brazil was a land of vast plains, cattle-filled pasture, and a place called home to “gauchos,” cattlemen of South America, and a national symbol of pride and tradition. For us, more specifically, a region called the Rio Grande do Sul. Over time, as the Gauchos of Brazil continued to colonize and cultivate, they also created a culture, rich with pride in their land, passion for their roots, and love for their people.

Gauchos Do Sul Brazilian BarbecueDue to the nature of their labor, a gauchos’ diet consisted of plenty of meat, barbecued slowly over an open flame. This style of barbecue is called churrasco, and the very act of it is an integral part of Brazilian culture. More than just a meal, churrasco is seen as a celebration among family, friends, and good company.

At Gauchos Do Sul, our traditional gaucho chefs still follow these same Brazilian traditions today. And as rich as it is in culture, we knew we couldn’t keep it to ourselves. So we opened Gauchos Do Sul in 2016 in Vintage Park. Since then, Gauchos Do Sul has been recognized in Voyage Houston magazine and won OpenTable’s Top 10 Diners’ Choice Awards in six categories (Best Overall, Best Service, Best Ambiance, Best Value, Good for Groups, and Special Occasions). Most recently we have been awarded the “People Love Us on Yelp” for achieving 5 out of 5 stars as well as features in Houston Chronicle’s 25 Must-try restaurants in the Cypress Area.
